Eligibility
~Is your project eligible for funding?
Are you/your project located in the selected postcode area? Your organisation needs to work in one of the four listed postcode grant regions to be eligible for funding during the corresponding application month.
Your project is eligible for funding if it has clear community benefits, particularly around wellbeing, sustainability and resilience. That’s a really wide category, so engage your creativity.
You do not need to be a registered charitable trust or formal organization to apply for funding (though you can be) - you just have to be creating community goodness, or solving a problem for your neighbourhood. Our grants are location specific, so please make sure that you tell us how you'll be benefiting the local community. Projects are only eligible if their primary benefit is within that postcode boundary.
If you are an organization, you can apply for money towards capital works and wages, but remember that our funding cap is $3000. If you are a school, you are welcome to apply for funding, but not for business as usual projects and not for staff wages.
You are not eligible for our funding if your project is promoting a particular religious or political group, or only benefits an individual.
The decisions of our trust board are final and no negotiation will be entered into.

Accountability
There are three things that we’re asking all grants recipients to do as part of their accountability:
- Dinner and a Presentation: About four months after you receive your grant, we’ll invite you to dinner. The Thankyou Dinner Parties are fun, family friendly events where you can meet other grant recipients and community leaders, and tell people about what you’ve been up to. Each grant recipient will be asked to give a 5 minute talk on the project, outcomes and what you’ll be doing next.
- A Narrative Report: Each grant recipient will be required to provide the Thankyou charitable Trust with a photograph and a half page write up for our website. It doesn’t have to be big, or complicated, but it’s a chance to share your work with the world. This must be submitted within six months of receiving your grant.
- Help choose the next grant recipients: ~12 months after you receive your grant, we’ll ask you to come together again and help us select the next round of grant recipients. This process will be facilitated by our community grants manager and trustees and we’ll provide you with all of the information and support you need to make good decisions. We think that you know best about the needs of your community and we trust you’ll make great choices.
